Australia and its people are very proud of their culture and heritage. Australians are well known for many things, including the beer that is brewed in Australia. Around the world, the most well known type of Australian beer is probably Fosters, but there are a wealth of other brews that originate in Australia. The following is a list of some of the most popular beers throughout Australia.

Tooheys – a full strength beer that is considered one of Australia's mainstream beers, it is available in New and Old, Tooheys is a mild drinking beer that has a light fruity flavor, the beer is likely to be found in pubs in NSW where it is most popular as opposed to Victoria where it is not as popular

Bluebottle Beer – a beer made by Fusion Brewing company that was designed and intended to be paired with fish, Bluebottle is a lightly carbonated, golden beer that has a slight citrus taste similar to Corona with the lime already inserted

XXXX – a beer that is most often associated with Queensland, Australia and is very popular, XXXX is a lager with a sweet fruity taste and is a beer that citizens of Queensland are very proud of as it represents a piece of their culture

Eumundi – an Australian lager with a crisp, bitter taste, Eumundi was designed to be consumed on the Queensland Coast and has a light, flowery undertone, unfortunately the economic succession has slowed production of the beer and made it less available

Thirsty Dog – a fairly new beer that was introduced in 2000 and is made by Brewer Castlemaine Perkins, Thirsty dog is the first wheat beer the company has produced and it is being marketed to a more youthful crowd

Extra Dry – a pale lager made by Brewer Castlemaine Perkins, Extra Dry has a malty flavor and a fruity scent, the lightness of the beer makes it a great pairing with fish or chicken

Coopers Original Pale Ale – a light colored beer that is naturally fermented, and has a fruity taste with a fairly bitter aftertaste, Coopers is a unique beer due to the fact that it is brewed with no chemicals or preservatives

Coopers Premium Ale – a golden brown ale that contains fruity undertones and has a bitter finish, Premium Ale is a well balanced brew that can be paired with a variety of different flavors

Thomas Coopers Finest Export – a cloudy beer with a distinct bitter flavor that was produced to pay homage to the independent brewing company that is more than 130 years old

Cascade Premium – a beer produced by Cascade Brewery that is matured for six weeks instead of the normal three weeks and has a strong flavor, Cascade Premium is best paired with meals such as beef or lamb

Fosters – one of the most well known Australian beers, Fosters is Australia's top selling beers and is available in more than 135 countries, it was the official beer for Australia at the 1984 Olympics, Fosters is the leading selling foreign beer in many countries

Victoria Bitter – the only mainstream beer that is popular all across Australia and can be found in most all pubs throughout the country, VB is a crisp bitter beer with a fruity scent

Emu Draft – a midstrength beer produced by Swan Brewing Company, the beer has a rich amber color and a fairly low alcohol content

Hahn Premium - a very popular Australian beer that is marketed as a fine beer to be consumed in the context in which wine would be, Hahn is a lager with a bitter taste and finish
